Follow up question would be is it possible to hide connections in the drop down menu? Example. Project X members would only see connections: X > Y, X > Z, but not Z > Y or Y > Z. Currently all the connections are visible in dropdown menu.

We managed to solve this by using Scriptrunner and script fragments.
Nice - can you share how you did it?
We used scriptrunner to show Exalate button only to members of servicedesk agent group.
For example, only servicedesk agents would have permission to exalate issues.
